VP OF INVESTOR RELATIONS

POSITION SUMMARY:  

This role manages stakeholder relations on behalf of greater: SATX leadership. This includes investor, community and government relations. This person serves as the primary contact for existing and potential investors and contributes to the overall success of investor development and retention through a multi-faceted approach to managing the investor experience. 

  POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Investor Engagement and Retention 

  • Develop, oversee, and help execute the comprehensive investor engagement plan to provide positive experiences and identify new ideas for engagement, recruitment and retention. 
  • Prepare annual implementation plan and tactics, and work through the team to ensure timely execution of all events and activities. 
  • Ensure investor benefits are delivering the expected value proposition in order to retain investor base and pivot as necessary. 
  • In coordination with the nominating committee, identify investors for diverse representation on Executive Committee, Teams, and committee assignments. 
  • Engage internal stakeholders (e.g., organization leadership, BD, WD) in recruitment and retention efforts, as aligned to the engagement strategy. 
  • Identify ways to consistently improve how we deliver and communicate a compelling value proposition and increase investor engagement. 
  • Develop and implement a targeted communication plan for investors and internal reporting; monitor trends to identify key messaging, reports and updates to share with investors. 
  • Ensure on-going communication with investors is executed timely (including one-on-one meetings, investor briefings, and/or printed and electronic communications). 

 

Relationship Management and Investor Cultivation  

  • Actively engage members to deliver value through regular connections and touchpoints, news and policy updates, and event invitations and opportunities. 
  • Support the Momentum 2030 capital campaign and serve as lead to the Investment Committee. 
  • Engage with prospects and pitch investment, as needed, to acquire new investors and/or increase existing investors. 
  • Serve as broker between prospective investor and leadership, staff, or volunteers to achieve desired outcomes (including coordination of meetings, calendars and related logistics). 
  • Consistently maintain detailed records of prospective investor contacts and activities in database or Salesforce CRM. 
  • Establish positive relationships with prospects and investors, and make connections to opportunities that correlate to their business objectives. 
  • Responsible for coordinating and collaborating with multiple volunteer leaders and committee chairs, and interacting with all levels of the internal team  
  • Articulately communicate with internal team, volunteer leaders and investors in a knowledgeable, clear and professional fashion. 
  • Support creation of investor materials for recruitment and retention, such as printed and electronic messages/collateral.  
  • Ensure detailed and updated records of investor contact information, touchpoints and activities are maintained in database or Salesforce. 
  • Coordinate with accounting to monitor investor revenue and billing; support A/R process for aging accounts to ensure prompt payment, reduced delinquencies and investor retention. 
  • Provide excellent customer service and prompt follow up with all investors. 

 

Community Relations 

  • Responsible for oversight of all investor and community relations event coordination and execution. 
  • Implement process, procedures, and systems for consistency and accountability. 
  • Support and guide company-wide community engagement activities to include public speaking engagements, events, board/committee representation, awards/nominations, etc. 
  • Oversee outreach plan and event coordination details, ensuring all activities, events and tactics are executed to planned timeline.  
  • Represent the organization in various business, committee, public and/or social meetings/functions to build shareholder awareness and engagement 

 

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:    

Experience:  

  • 3-5 years of experience working in membership, investor, or shareholder relations role or related field. 
  • Experience building and maintaining investor relationships, demonstrating a high level of professionalism. 
  • Strong interpersonal and community engagement skills, with proven record of developing and sustaining community and business relationships necessary in achieving programmatic and organizational goals. 
  • Proven organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects and priorities. 
  • Ability to communicate clearly and proficiently; effectively coordinate with all levels, especially senior level company executives, general public and internal team members. 
  • Ability to think strategically and identify critical needs to ensure success.  
  • Experience in leading processes and personnel effectively. 

Education: Bachelor’s degree with a major in business, management, marketing or related field preferred

Work Environment: 

This is a flexible work environment which includes both in-office attendance and the ability to work from home as business needs allow. Work is performed both indoors and outdoors. Operating computer, manual dexterity, talking, hearing, and repetitive motion.  Use of personal computing equipment, telephone, and multi-functioning printer. Ability to travel to and from meetings, training sessions or other business-related events. After hours work/travel may be required.
